Lancaster Strategic Cycle Network

“We will be consulting early next year on a highways and transport masterplan for Lancaster which will provide the basis for prioritising major improvements to our transport infrastructure in the coming decades, including strategic cycling and walking networks.” (Vali Birang, head of sustainable transport and safety at Lancashire County Council, via Lancaster Guardian)

That’s great, but I just felt it might not take that long… at least the strategic bit of it.  47 mins. so far…

This is a diagrammatic draft of a utility network.

Please do comment and tell me what I’ve left out or got wrong, and any other layers which should be added. Some of the secondary routes are in place, but intermittent and / or of inconsistent quality.  I have not shown marked routes with no cycle provision.

Mapping is Open Cycle Map, so you can see the other existing routes in the background (red: national, blue: local.  Includes all marked routes).
