Worn-out cycle lanes

Dick has written to Lancashire County Council about the state of worn-out cycle lanes in Lancaster, Slyne and Carnforth.  (List attached.)

On a positive note, the cycle lanes on newly-resurfaced Ashton Road and upper Penny Street are bold and bright.

south roadAnd hats off to David Chandler, who has left no stone unturned – and no pothole unmeasured – in an attempt to get the road surface on the cycle-contraflow on South Road, Morecambe, improved.

  1. Paul Stubbins says:

That is a great piece of work Dick. The council is really neglecting this routine maintenance. In particular, the cycle lane at the bottom of the hill at Bridge Street/Cable street must be a priority and one which I will follow up as there is a budget for this of (I think) about 30k which I am going to try to ensure is a realignment of the road as this needs to be more than paint alone.
