Clearing the Preston Guild Wheel after floods . . . but threats remain

Paul was one of the volunteers who helped to clear the Guild Wheel path at the weekend.  Part of the 21-mile greenway was blocked by debris following the flooding of the River Ribble, and Ribble Valley Cycle Club put out a call for helpers.  Read the Lancashire Evening Post report here.  Thank you to all the volunteers for getting this great route open again.

Unfortunately, however, the Guild Wheel is also under threat from new developments on its northern edge and from the Broughton bypass plans.  More details on page 6 of the notes of the last meeting of the Lancashire Cycle Liaison group.
