Planning application – Overton

Yet another planning application (reference 15/01156/FUL) for Dynamo to object to on the grounds that it offers nothing for sustainable transport and will only make life worse for cyclists.  This one is for 32 houses in Overton – which is already a white-knuckle ride on narrow, winding roads with speeding traffic.

Discovered a useful core planning principle in the National Planning Policy Framework under “Achieving Sustainable Development”: planning should “actively manage patterns of growth to make the fullest possible use of public transport, walking and cycling, and focus significant development in locations which are or can be made sustainable”.  One to learn by heart and refer to frequently!
