Blocking up of St Peter’s Road, Lancaster?

Lancashire County Council has sent Dynamo details of their plan to block up the northern end of St Peter’s Road in Lancaster (where it joins Moor Lane) as a safety measure.  Unless you are high up, it is difficult to get a good view of cars coming up the canal bridge before you turn right out of St Peter’s Road onto Moor Lane, and there have been collisions.  (Cyclists might do better to go through St Peter’s Mews to access Moor Lane.  It’s fiddlier but feels safer.)

Here is the plan and covering letter.

Dynamo is in favour of the stopping-up so long as cyclists can continue to turn left into St Peter’s Road from Moor Lane.
