City centre cycle campaign: update

Not much to report on this one at the moment.  Our e-petition on Lancashire County Council’s website closed with 204 supporters.  (This is a good number, bearing in mind that you have to register to vote, unlike, say, change.org.  Thanks to Mark for his last-minute campaigning.)   The City Centre Traffic Management Stakeholder Group (organised by the County Council) held its last meeting in June and focused on parking options for drivers with disabilities.  The question of cyclist access (or non-access) has been put on hold, which doesn’t sound hopeful.

The Stakeholder Group minutes state that there should have been a report to the County Council Cabinet meeting in July, but there’s no sign of that in the online minutes.  One to chase.
