Space for Cycling

This is the name for the newly-launched national campaign for better cycle infrastructure.  The leaflet looks to have some really good arguments in it, examples of good infrastructure etc, so worth a look if you’re a) interested b) campaigning c) get collared by people who complain about cycle facilities, what Dynamo is/isn’t doing, or cyclists sharing with pedestrians etc.

You can use their website to ask your local coucillor to pledge their support for Space for Cycling.

Its 6 themes tie in well with our aims I think:

  1. Protected space on main roads, e.g. the A6 campaign
  2. Removing through motor traffic in residential areas
  3. Lower speed limits
  4. Cycle-friendly town centres e.g the City Centre campaign
  5. Safe routes to school
  6. Routes through green spaces e.g. the Heysham Moss Link campaign

  1. Paul says:

Dynamo have got involved in Space for Cycling by writing to local Councillors asking for their support for our proposed Heysham – Lancaster traffic free path. As supportive responses are received we will let you know. Could you contact your local Councillor?
