Heysham-M6 link road – disruption to cycle routes

There will be diversions to the canal towpath because of the link road works.  They are:

North of the Lune aqueduct

The closure of the canal towpath north of the Lune Aqueduct to enable a drainage culvert from a new link road to be constructed has been extended till the end of March as work has been delayed due to the wet weather.  It means that cyclists have to use Halton Road north of the canal bridge. Map here.

 Canal north of Hammerton Hall

The towpath will be closed from 24 March to mid May 2015 to enable a new bridge to be constructed across the canal. A temporary path will be provided round the works.  Map here
