Off-road routes in the area?

Dynamo member Paul Stubbins is looking to identify new off road cycle routes local to Lancaster and Morecambe and to add these to cyle brochures published by the council. The aim is to promote safe cycling routes that would be suitable for family rides out on hybrid or mountain bikes, reducing the need to travel first out of Lancaster by car or train before starting out on a cycle. If routes are found that would need a change in access permissions to permit cycling over part of the route, then it is the intention to work with the council and interested parties if possible to to try to achieve this.

Paul is looking for other cyclists who would like to try out different routes and see how accessible and suitable they might be. If you are interested in joining in a cycle, have a good route to suggest or might have experience in making applications for access permissions then please get in touch at dynamocycle (at) btinternet.com or through the blog or twitter accounts.

Would you also be willing to pay insurance and road tax to contribute to the upkeep of the local roads? Just wondered.
