Lancaster car club scheme meeting – 17th January

There is a meeting on Monday, 17th January 2011 in the Friends’ Meeting House in Lancaster starting at 7pm, open to anyone who is potentially interested in starting up/joining a car club scheme in the area.

The idea of a car club is a scheme by which a group of people share access to a pool of cars. It could appeal to diverse groups of people. It could be those who do not own a car but would like to use one occasionally. It could be those who own a car but resent it gently rusting away most of the time as they only use it infrequently. It could be those families who own multiple cars but the second or third car only has occasional use. Such families could reduce the number of cars they own, which would give them money to do other things and reduce the number of cars parked on their drive or in the street.
